You may also want to know that I have received an email from the
record company (DMC Records) apologising for the copy protection and
stating that none of their future releases will be copy
protected. Actual text of the email is below...

It's not clear whether future presses of this CD will or will not be

Firstly let me apologise for the delay in getting back to you.
Unfortunately we've been inundated with complaints about the copy
protection, and I've been trying to make time to reply to everyone! I
can tell you now that we won't be copy protecting our releases in the
future.

All of your points have been duly noted - and have definitely aided
the cause of the honest punter out there who shouldn't be punished
just because of an irritating minority who cause the piracy problem.

In hindsight, we realise that if we were going to copy protect the
Morrissey album, we definitely should at least have made it obvious on
the external packaging.

I would like to send you a promo CD of the album - as this wasn't copy
protected so you'll be able to play it anywhere.  What's your postal
address?
